Knocked Out A Tooth In Calgary?

Accidents happen and that sometimes means a tooth gets knocked out during sports or fun activities.
If you follow the steps below you will increase your chances of saving the tooth and minimizing extensive dental

  • Try to only handle the tooth by touching the
crown portion – not the tooth

  • If the tooth is dirty rinse with warm
water.  Do not use soap or any chemicals
and don’t wrap the tooth in a cloth

  • Try to reinsert the clean damp tooth
immediately.  The sooner the tooth is
replaced the greater the chance of it surviving

  • If reinsertion is not possible keep the tooth moist
outside of the mouth by placing in a container and covering with your saliva.
You can also place the tooth between your cheek and gum, but be careful not to swallow the tooth

Dr. Andy Hoe of Bite Dental in South West Calgary recommends the use of  a custom Sport Guard as part of tooth loss prevention.  To make an appointment for a custom Sport Guard, or to discuss treatment options to a damaged tooth, call Bite Dental today 403.201.2483
